Tom Appleget, RN Tom Appleget, RN, is Nebraska Heart’s Cath Lab and Outstate Clinical Director. In this capacity, Tom oversees the clinical operations of Nebraska Heart Institute’s three outpatient cardiac catheterization laboratories as well as the Nebraska Heart Hospital’s three inpatient cardiac and vascular laboratories. In addition Tom provides management support for the Institute’s three satellite clinics, located in Grand Island, Hastings and North Platte, Nebraska. Each satellite location offers full-service cardiology and vascular care and includes seven cardiologists and more than 60 support staff. Tom joined the Nebraska Heart Institute in 2001 as a member of its outpatient cath lab team and in 2003 became expeditor for the Lincoln-based Labs. Prior to assuming his current position in 2008, Tom was named Team Leader for Nebraska Heart’s Cath Labs. Before joining the Nebraska Heart Institute, Tom worked in a community-based hospital as a progressive care nurse. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Nursing School in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tom and his wife, Angie, are natives of Fremont, Nebraska and currently live in Lincoln with their three children. Tom’s father is also a member of the Nebraska Heart staff. |
